      Not sure if I’ve seen the tapered sleeve type like Frank suggest.

      I have this set from Lisle Tools. Been using it for over 25 yrs. now. Lube up the piston and rings with fogging oil, then use a plastic hammer tap the piston in. You have to use some common sense though… be carefull.

          I’m with Frank, love the OMC sleeves. I got in the practice of ordering the appropriate sleeve along with rings etc when doing rebuild work…
          Needless to say, it is not economically feasible to have all the various sizes on hand, and some of these things are expensive. So, I always have my fingers to fall back on (and pinch/cut)….

            I use my wife! She hates that job.

            I would buy some of those tapered sleeves if any of our guys decide to make them!
