Not the first time I show it, but I did a fixture to clean a tank.
Using simple things anyone may have around.
A bit noisy, but after one night it was perfect 🙂

Now I use citric acid since I discovered it. More efficient than vinegar, and no smell.
This is a 1952 Beaver saw guide.

Wow I have to remember that. A lot easier and more effective than shaking the tank a few minutes every hour. Great idea

Just a drill, a clamp to fix the speed (not too fast) , a drum with sand paper to make the bike wheel rotate.
If I remember, inside there was just soap and dry wall screws. They are sharp, and after a few hours they cut everything.
The result was perfect ! 🙂
The tittle say it : for the lazzy.

          Show your setup ! 🙂

You inspired me to tackle my tractor gas tank – alas, I didn’t have a second tractor to do it this way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVZvjdQT3ks

so I hung it from the beams in my boathouse. One wash with ammonia, and now I’m working through four gallons of diluted cider and several pounds of old screws:

              Does this tank move ?
              I’d love to have a boathouse !
But I suppose I first need a boat and a house near a lake 🙂
I had about 10 outboard engines till now, but still no boat …
At least, I’m restoring a 1950 Beaver saw, so I’ll soon have all the tools needed to build one 🙂

what do you use to clean aluminum tanks safely?

This was an aluminum tank. Soaked two days with ammonia and two days with apple cider vinegar, of course I had nuts and bolts in both shaking often. Then rinsed with methanol/alcohol and dried thoroughly. Tank is spotless. Dave
