Should I be concerned with this crack in the lower unit ?

Looks like it is just a casting flaw, wouldn’t worry about it…

Some cleaning up and now we have what looks like good spark on both cylinders.. which is an accomplishment for me ..LOL!
Does anyone know off hand what the torque should be on the flywheel ?

I noticed this motor did not have a cam wick installed or a clip for it .. I did lube the cam and arm on the points though . Will this be ok ?

I would get a clip and wicker installed. They help prevent premature wear of the points shoes rubbing against the cam. Use a small amount of light oil on the wick periodically. If your flywheel has an inspection hole/port then this makes it a lot easier.

Example of a light oil is 3 in 1 oil.

                      Cheers,

After further inspection I actually found the clip .. It was where it was supposed to be without a wick so I didn’t know what it was for at the time .. I couldn’t find my 3&1 oil so I used some sewing machine oil …
