I would suggest bringing a boat, especially because you live so close. My round trip is about 1,500 miles, and I always bring my boat with at least one engine with me! The boat riding is really what I like best about Tomahawk, not to mention meeting all our friends and the buying/selling. The cool temps, [compared to Missouri} smooth water and beautiful scenery are what my family loves there. In fact my wife probably would not go unless she could boat ride.
July 24, 2017 at 12:34 pm #62118If you bring a boat, just watch out for the rocks that are hiding out
there! Last year was my maiden trip to Tomahawk and voyage
out in it’s waters. My Chris Craft Challenger proudly navigated
the waters……. for about 6 minutes……. then I heard a mighty
"clunk" and the sound of the motor winding up like a jet engine,
as the shear pin "sheared".
Fortunately, I was towed back to the landing by an OMC
named "Bad Brown", "Big Brown", "Ugly & Brown", or
something like that. 😕Prepare to be boarded!

Ron BJuly 25, 2017 at 4:59 pm #62183I’m coming and it will be my first meet.
I’m looking for a control box for a Johnson or Evinrude "hydro-electric" gearcase motor. Also looking for a Homelite/Bearcat motor.
it would be nice to find a tilt-trim assembly as was sold for early ’70s OMC motors.
These are low-buck projects so I am a bottom-feeder.

July 26, 2017 at 1:35 am #62204Bringing at least one boat, to sell, and maybe another to run. Also parts to part with, and show & run motors. Nice FeatherCraft Ranger with slick paint job.
July 26, 2017 at 12:11 pm #62217I loaded up eleven outboards to take to Tomahawk.
Nothing too exciting. Just trying to get ride of "duplicates"
of stuff I don’t need.
Two "froze up" QD Johnsons, mostly complete.
Five running units in various states of completeness,
and a "free pile" of four TD Johnsons with enough
parts to make one good one!
Also, a few fiberglass hoods and two big OMC rewinds
for outboards I do not have, or need, lol.
I’ll be at campsite 81 if you want to take a peek!
Just hope I can get rid of most of it so I can bring home
something I don’t have. 😮
