My uncle "passed the reins" and gifted me his early Caille and
Wisconsin RBM.
Regarding the latter, where would I look for a serial number?
So far it’s evasive. I believe from looking at Jack Craib’s site
that it’s a Model M.
Also, it’s missing the Elkhart magneto. Has a successful
retrofit of another, more common magneto ever been
accomplished?
Thanks.Prepare to be boarded!

difference is the decal. Evidently there’s no serial number database, so
not sure of the year. Has the wrong flywheel. Other than that, I know
little about it.
P.S.- I’ve already been told the mixer is upside down, lolPrepare to be boarded!

The only Caille RBM I have that isn’t a Liberty is an early (1915-ish) Five-Speed with an Evinrude flywheel/magneto
And I just noticed your Wisconsin has a sector gear in the link to the rudder – backwards steering lol

Bill, not sure if I’d consider it "backward" steering. Don’t you just shove the lever
in the direction you want to go? Maybe it’s just me thinking backwards again 😆Decided to work on the Wisconsin first. I dissected some of it this afternoon, and so
far have not found anything that looks like a serial number. On the transom
mount there’s a casting number, something like L45-3.
So far I haven’t been able to get the delicate bronze prop off, but I have
not go the "heat" out yet.
Not sure how the drive shaft tube (or if) comes out of the gear case. Any one know? Also, the thin brass skeg is long gone. Repairable?

Geez, seems like your collection keeps growing by the week! So how many total do you have now? These 2 are great additions to the pile but you are probably going to have to do an addition onto your shop!

It’s hard to keep an accurate count of the outboards, lol.
Database shows 203 outboards, but about 50 of them were
"parts" motors, froze up when I got them in a purchase of
over 100 motors. Quite a few I’ve scavenged for parts to
make a "good" one, so they should probably not be "counted"
as outboards anymore. Gave away about 10 junk Johnsons
the last two years at Tomahawk to make more room, and
added a rack in a little garage for this years purchase at
Tomahawk. It’s a constant struggle, lol.Prepare to be boarded!
