Glad it worked out. Like Dave says, there will always be smoke in the barrel. OMC’s recommendation for this engine was 50:1, but I would go a little heavier on the mix because this engine still uses plain rod bearings just like its predecessors did… Try some of the OEM partially synthetics oils, there might be less smoke at 24:1. Once you get the engine on the lake and blow it out at high throttle settings, I’m sure the smoke will be minimal…
