      Machined new ones. Final dimensions are 0.240” OD, 0.200 1/8” shoulder and an OAL of 1”. See drawing and photos. Springs are permanently attached.

          Michael, thanks for the offer, but I should be able to make some, if I ever get back to
          that Johnson. I should, as the curiosity is killing me, lol.
          I have a lathe, but I’m guessing carbon rod is a little delicate to chuck up, perhaps
          a 1/4″ collet would be better!
          The good this is, that now I know where to buy the carbon rod. Thanks!

            Once i turned the rods and reassembled i got the engine to run. She runs smooth and goes right up to full piwer. Inwill take her on the lake in a few weeks. Thanks fir the help
