Use heat and an impact driver and hammer. (Flame wrench and an impact driver are a mechanics best friend)

Got it out! Was also able to remove the 1"3/8ths hex nut on the tank and it was a bear. Think I’ll put an inline filter from tank to carb and eliminate that tank filter. Now the only things left to do are thoroughly clean the tank, fill the gear case and run her up. Thanks for all the help!

I had the motor running nicely in a tank a few days ago but now when I open up the fuel valve, gas seeps heavily from the top of the float barrel from the small holes in the brass post on top of the cap and floods the entire carb. Could this be a float problem? Maybe debris in the carb?

if gas is coming outthe overflow the there is some kind of float or needle seat issue that needs attention

I have used an impact driver to get some of the screw. Have you tried Joe Poole for a new impeller? I realize I have been out of the loop for a while from illness but it seems someone had impellers for sale.

The impeller is fine, it’s a carb problem.
