      Thanks. I used your advice and did measure each and popped it off last night and it did come off with a POP! Sense of relief over that. Funny how that’s what was stressing me out the most. Just like with the impeller. One of the screws was stripped a bit on it’s head to get in there and a friend came to the rescue with an impact screwdriver. Will have to invest in some more tools like that soon. Maybe Christmas gift ideas for the wife if I giver her exact specs! Ha.

        My first motor was a 1957 Evinrude Lightwin, almost exactly the same motor that you have. This was a great choice as your first motor as you can get the basics down. From here you can graduate to more features like motors with shifters and remote gas tanks.

        11 years and 100 outboards later………….
