When the motor is in forward gear. The anchor (as the parts list calls it) of the mag plate does not hit the embossed stop on the block.
When spring clip is not attached. The anchor is able to hit the stop.
The lever (when not attached with spring clip) also has full motion and hits the other embossed stop on the block.
No wires are in the way
Please see the three videos
Any ideas???
full motion

Thinking of the anchor or the curved arm. After all, there was a change in the following year when the cruise throttle came into being. Maybe the curved arm is bent??? Stranger things have been known to happen.
March 1, 2020 at 6:10 pm #196380interesting thought
I did find on this motor some parts from a 1956 30 hp
the recoil and rubber mountsMarch 1, 2020 at 6:36 pm #196381March 1, 2020 at 7:34 pm #196385Is the carb synced to the magneto correctly?
I have an RDE-17, but that’s all I can think
of for possibilities right now, and not even
sure if that’s a possibility.Prepare to be boarded!
March 1, 2020 at 7:41 pm #196386How have you established that the curved arm is not bent? Just a thought anyway, so maybe it isn’t bent.
March 1, 2020 at 7:55 pm #196389Might check the tension on the plug wires. If there is no slack that might hold it back. But fo no more than what is lacking on travel I seriously doubt your losing significant horsepower.
You may want to check pn on that vertical arm. They may have been different. Just a thought.

March 2, 2020 at 8:30 am #196405Is it possible the the throttle arm is one tooth off, down below where it mates with the gear?

classicomctools@gmail.comMarch 2, 2020 at 9:14 am #196408Richard I am thinking the teeth alignment is ok because the lever hits the other embossed stop on the block.
