Rick, good news for sure! You are fortunate that your local police dept was able and willing to invest the time in such a “trivial” case… most cities , unless there are at least a couple of dead bodies involved you get no help…. just chalk it up to an insurance claim

Mr brother in law was a lawyer for a Fortune 500 company. Their house was broken into and items were taken. Police took report and said turn it
in on your insurance. Zero interest in finding out who did it. By chance
his home owners insurance was with same insurance company as his
employer. When he mentioned this to the insurance company, they hired
a private detective. The neighborhood teenagers were identified and ALL
items were recovered including things that were nor reported.
It did not matter one way or the other to police , but, it mattered a great
deal to insurance company when multi million dollar contract might
          be at risk.
Police officers and departments vary. Recent article in WSJ has Las Vegas solving 94% of murders. Many cities can not solve even half, Size of city and murder rate do not account for wide range of results.
Motivation and organization…the effort you make determines the results you get,

Great news but we still need to keep an eye out for the 1916 Evinrude AA powerhead

Good to hear you were able to recover one of them along with a refund of what you paid to buy it back. Hopefully, the AA powerhead will be coming home again soon.
