        Nice OMC coil conversion. The spark plug wire fits underneath the coil like that with no grinding?

          It looks Great! These were pretty nice little motors, and set many speed records in their day. This was the last version of this block with the water cooled exhaust, but was much like the pre-war and immediate post war KD-4 motors. It is nice to have the Phelon magneto in there as they were a more easily serviced system. The early Bendix Scintilla systems were not bad either.

              Need to remove a little of the webbing under the coils here.
              No other modifications are necessary to the magneto plate.

                make sure you put a cotter pin in the prop nut. they are great motors had on when I was a kid.

                    merc had there own Michigan is aftermarket.

                      That is a beautiful little Mark 7 Tubs. I have one I haven’t worked on yet but no where near as nice. I’m not a big Merc guy either, but I am looking forward to getting my Mark 7 going .
