Omc coils fit that easily, I have some motors that may get converted.

There is a tool to recrimp the clamp screws.

Hey Tubs. Do OEM condensers jive with the OMC coils?

I don’t usually mess with motors this new but
I think the OMC condensers mount differently?

KE4 / Mark 7 Mercury models may not be quite what they seem. Early KE4 used KD4 cylinders, rods, pistons, upper water jacket and had a fabricated gas tank support.
Mark 7 may have a serial number in range assigned to KE4 indicating they have been relabeled as the later model.

My KE4 has scintilla coils so no swap for me.

Nice OMC coil conversion. The spark plug wire fits underneath the coil like that with no grinding?

Need to remove a little of the webbing under the coils here.
No other modifications are necessary to the magneto plate.

I am in the middle of this conversion right now. I have the two omc coils (Prufrex) removed from their laminates. The Phelon laminates are bigger of course….
Were you able to file the epoxy portion of the coil to enable fitment on the Phelon laminate…….or did you have to file the laminate itself (or both)……

Can you post your usual great pictures of that filing?

                    Thanks Tubs!
