          for sure, it’s the same as mine
          Lightweight model 401 ( on the ID plate 401 0718 )
          but what I wrote earlier, mine has the flywheel magneto.
          and …..with a closer look…. , lower unit is the same but prop and water pump are different 🙄 .

              I use these 6V 4AH sealed Battery’s .
              Several brand’s to choose from.
              You can find them at a battery store
              if your not into eBay but the price
              could be quite a bit more.

                You can also stack four "D" cells in a length of PVC pipe. One end is glued on, the other threaded. Of course they are not rechargeable . . . 😎

                  I guess a 4 AA holder with some rechargeable batteries would work too.

                    You have lots of options.
                    This is close to the style of battery that would
                    have been available when your motor was new.

                      Double A batteries would not last very long – use 5 if rechargeable. . . 😉

                        NIMH rechargables are about 2AH each so 8AH total for the 4, the 6V Lead Acid battery recommended is only 4AH.
