      This ignition system is fairly robust. There have been any number of
      different style of batteries used to supply power for these early
      battery ignition over the years. Before we had all the choices we
      have today it wouldn’t be uncommon to use a car battery. Some
      people have used rechargeable 7.5 volt drill batteries but they are
      not as common as they once were. They will even run on a 9 Volt
      transistor radio battery. (That’s a smoke alarm battery for you
      younger guys)
