I have a ‘26 Elto Super G. I have unstuck the motor and it now has great compression. I have rebuilt the coil according to the AOMCI YouTube video and it has good spark. The timer seems to be working well. The carb is free and seems to be working properly. However, it seems to flood easily. I charge the cylinders and it usually hits and pops, but I can’t get more than one rotation. I have adjusted the carb from .5 to 1.25 turns, but I still get more than 1 hit with the occasional flame thrower out of the exhaust cut out. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!

Someone more familiar should be able to tell you
the best timer position for starting.Prepare to be boarded!

Close the mixture screw all the way. Keep flipping the
motor over till it starts and cleans itself out. Open the
mixture screw 1-1/4 turns and try again. Don’t charge
the cylinders.Should start on the 3rd or 4th flip if not
sooner.
If you’re not getting anywhere, close the mixture screw
all the and keep flipping the motor over to be sure it
isn’t flooded. If it doesn’t clean itself out within a dozen
flips it wasn’t flooded. Open the mixture screw another
1/4 more and try again. Your battery should be 6.2
volts or higher so there is no question about the voltage
being too low.
Timer should be pointing to about 6:30 – 7:00 o’clock.
Tubs.September 25, 2022 at 11:34 am #266642Following your advise, with no charging it get pops for multiple spins. It then acts flooded again. I shut off mixing screw. A few more dead flooded spins and it starts popping again. The flywheel makes about 3/4 spin and jumps and pops. I’ve tried at 1.25, 1.5, and back to one mixing screw rotation. It is so close, but still far away. Any more advise?
September 25, 2022 at 11:34 am #266643Battery is new and test at 6.3v. Once my arm felt like it was going to fall off I pulled the plugs. Plugs had smut on them, so I know they were hitting.

Click on my video below on the timer. It will explain
how it works and how to set the point gap.

This video may be helpful.
Tubs.September 26, 2022 at 2:39 pm #266711I’m convinced I have a excess compression issue. Between the starting position and compression A it is fairly free moving, but when it tries to start it swings just slightly past compression B it gets stuck. You can use both hands and turn it through compression B, but it has a lot of compression. I’m considering taking a ring off or trying to start it with 1 plug removed. Thoughts?

Its not likely you have too much compression unless the motor has been
modified or incorrect parts have been installed. The way to check the
compression is with a compression gauge. Expect it to be between 65
& 75 Lbs. You should remove both spark-plugs and turn the motor
over. It should be more than “fairly free moving” with out any binding.
If it is free and smooth check the spark plugs for any sign they are
hitting the pistons. Not likely but check for it anyway.
If you find it is binding when rotating the flywheel that could be
anywhere, including the gear case.
Tubs.September 26, 2022 at 11:23 pm #266743I would say the points gap is off (.010″), or you are flipping it the wrong direction, or your battery is weak.
