      If the hub is steel and you decide to burn it off, be really careful you don’t damage the crank.

        Cut in towards the crank with a thin cutoff disc on a mini grinder .Stop before you get to the crank then split it with a chisel.

          That’s what I thought as well. I will line up with the key way. That way if I cut to deep I can replace the key.

              If you cut two slots fairly close to each other you can break the piece off with a hammer and punch then a couple hits with the chisel.

                I just had a problem getting a flywheel of a SD20 Johnson. I put my puller on as tight as I could whacked it with a hammer nothing! I let it set over night with the puller on tight next morning no difference. I got my propane torch out and heated around the center of the flywheel and BOOM it was off! Maybe try that before you go surgical!

                    It will come off off using a guillotine bearing puller teamed up with a harmonic balancer puller..

                      Thanks. I think I’ll try mumbles idea first with a bit of heat. Just need to wait for amizon to deliver my guillotine puller. Another tool for the tool box!
