Absolutely not the “Pilot Ring”, which is way, way, larger. In fact, same diameter as the water pump housing.

Finally got her together and got her to run, unfortunately both gaskets around the reed plate leaked a lot. Got them on order, getting there.

I have a 5d10e Elto. Where would o get a seal for the bottom gear case where the prop shaft exits the housing, and , my carb is missing the drain screw near the fuel inlet . I plugged it and the little drain hole with screws

Prop shaft seal is part number 41-62, changed to 307563, changed to 0321788. Any Evinrude dealer.

Yeah those holes used #10-24 brass screws with fiber washers. Any “real” hardware store.

When you can’t find the part number for the seal, or when Frank takes a day off,
you can input the shaft and bore size in this site
and see “what’s available”, then you have lots of options on where to buy said seal.

Smoke on the water is a good sign!

It’s always satisfying when a motor is back together and running!

Just a suggestion but you should block the tub up higher or use a deep bucket as these pumps aren’t designed to lift water and the water level should be up to the pump at least.

Definitely need a better set up, I thought I had a better bucket but it didn’t fit in between the legs of the stand. Motor would idle low but it seemed like i had the knob almost all the way in, it was cold out. I didn’t run it very long. Need to put some time into the 67 crestliner hull it came with, the original plan was to flip them to get something a little larger for spring.

If you ran it that way for any length of time, your water pump impeller could be shot from running dry
