I get the new condensor and points in. The points contact area are much larger than original which I guess is a good thing.
My question is why was I sent a capsule with what looks like grease and a piece of polishing paper?
April 23, 2018 at 12:40 am #74541The grease would be to put a little bit on the points cam.
Not sure about the paper……. maybe to polish the points?Prepare to be boarded!
April 23, 2018 at 1:28 am #74553I figured it out once I posted that and then found out the new spark plug I bought is crap compared to the 30 yr plug that came with it. Going to clean up threads and install here shortly and let er rip.
April 23, 2018 at 1:28 am #74554I have searched around. Do y’all know what the correct plug is?
April 23, 2018 at 1:59 am #74559Bright blue spark, trying priming with anything under the sun that burns and still nothing. It’s spitting out a lot of black from exhaust since I have the lower unit pulled off.
About to throw this thing across the yard.
April 23, 2018 at 4:03 am #74565Without me re-reading the previous five pages of threads, what does your compression gauge read when testing this motor?
April 23, 2018 at 12:00 pm #74574It was 90 the first time I checked. Now it’s at 80-84
April 23, 2018 at 2:01 pm #74578Going to have to rethread spark plug hole and put a insert in it. Then recheck
