Evinrude 5.5 won’t start

I have not removed the intake manifold from the engine, just the carburetor from the intake manifold.

I wouldn’t worry about the intake manifold gaskets then, unless there is evidence someone has had it off before….

Mounting bolts show signs of removal as factory paint  is gone on bolt heads. Best to leave it alone if  the engine does not show signs that crankcase pressure is expelled out the face of the carb on downstrokes.  Curiosity killed the cat.
